Lower School

Collegiate’s Lower School provides young students, from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 5, an opportunity to begin building their social and educational skills in a way that is creative and disciplined and stimulating. From Junior Kindergarten through Grade 5, children build disciplined, self-motivated learners who are fully prepared for Middle School.

Collegiate’s Lower School teachers are committed to using creative techniques for instruction that are based in sound educational theory and research. The core curriculum focuses on reading and mathematics with the opportunity for regular instruction in art, music, physical education, computers, foreign language, and science.

The average class size in the Lower School is less than 18 students. Computers and Internet access are readily available in classrooms and in the computer lab, aiding students in writing activities, research projects, and class presentations. The Junior Kindergarten program welcomes young minds to a nurturing place for learning and meeting new friends.
