Enrichment

The personality and atmosphere of our Middle School really surfaces through our enrichment programs like fine arts, and clubs and activities. Every student participates in fine arts five days a week.

The Middle School arts program offers an introduction to visual arts, music classes - all students spend at least one semester learning to play a string instrument! - and theater. By the time they head off to Upper School, most will have begun to specialize in one or two areas.

Opportunities:
Instrumental Music, Vocal Music, Studio Art, Drama
Grade Six - 9-week rotation through each offering
Grade Seven - 9-week rotation through level two of each course
Grades Eight - students pick two, each to study for half of the year

In addition, each student selects an enrichment activity for two periods a week.

Enrichment Period provides:

  • an academic-related challenge where transferable skills can be developed for regular academic classes
  • classes where students can more deeply explore an academic-related passion; low-pressure confidence-building settings
  • opportunities for students and teachers to develop a stronger rapport
  • opportunities to explore interests and develop as a more well rounded individual
