Service Learning
In order to prepare students to
be "responsible citizens of a global society," service
learning plays a major role at Collegiate.
Beginning in Middle School, students perform
community service work at several non-profit agencies throughout
Greater Louisville. In the Upper School, community service
becomes an even more integral part of the program, as students
are required increase their service.
Over the
last three years, students in the Upper School have given
over 28,000 hours of service to the community! That
is almost 60 hours per student each year.
Guidance & Counseling
A caring and trained
staff follow each student's personal, social and academic
progress. Counselors and faculty advisors provide students
individual counseling, but also a comprehensive program of
life skills classes from kindergarten through grade 12.
In addition, the school organizes parent
evenings on relevant topics and special programs for students,
such as Drug and Alcohol Awareness Day. Familiar with mental
health professionals and other resources in the Louisville
community, counselors make referrals and maintain on-going
communication when appropriate.
