Collegiate Service Award
The Masris are being honored with the 2010 Collegiate Service Award.

Debbie and Bashar Masri

As two of the most dedicated Collegiate parents, Debbie and Bashar Masri have spent the last 11 years giving their enthusiasm, energy, love and talents to the students, faculty and staff of Louisville Collegiate School. Bashar joined the Board of Trustees in 2005 and has served faithfully on the buildings and facilities committee, the strategic planning committee and as chair of the multicultural committee. As an engineer, he was also instrumental in the development of the fields at Champion’s Trace, including the building of the new fieldhouse and negotiations with Javanon Soccer Club to develop the remaining 10 acres of land.

Debbie spent her years supporting the athletics program, whether it be creating an entire event like the Eighth Grade Athletic Night or selflessly videotaping every soccer and basketball game. She also served on the Parents Association throughout her sons’ years at Collegiate. Bashar and Debbie encouraged both their boys (Rashad ’08 and Layth ’10) in academics and athletics, guiding them to become shining examples of student athletes while at Collegiate and now in college. They have inspired many others to get involved with Collegiate and make it a better place—they are amazing all-around people and a treasure for Collegiate.
