Virginia Perrin Speed
As Louisville Collegiate School looks ahead to the next 100 years, it celebrates a spirit of tradition and innovation maintained by caring faculty and staff, beginning in Junior Kindergarten and continuing for a lifetime.

In order to fund and sustain the exciting endeavors on our campus, we rely on the generosity of our donors through Annual Fund and Capital Campaign solicitations. However there is another way to become a part of the Louisville Collegiate School legacy and at the same time be remembered for your generous contribution.

A Bequest is a gift made through a provision in your will naming Collegiate as beneficiary. A gift of this type may reduce estate taxes. By notifying the Development Office of your gift, we will name you or your family as a member of the Speed Society. The Speed Society honors Collegiate’s founder, Virginia Perrin Speed (1879-1968) and her husband William Shallcross Speed 1873-1955).

If you have already named Collegiate as a beneficiary in your will or if you would like to include Collegiate in your will, click and print the informational card, by clicking "more" and returning it to Collegiate. If you have questions, contact Jennifer Hartlage, Director of Development, by phone (502) 479-0345 or e-mail jhartlage@loucol.com.

Are you or your company looking for extra help during the summer? Does your company offer an internship program?

In 2007, Collegiate established the Young Alumni Summer Job Program that matched alumni home from college during the summer with businesses and firms offering employment and internship opportunities. As a parent, graduate or friend of Collegiate, you are familiar with the preparation and character a Collegiate graduate brings to any office or job.

If you have an existing summer program or offer summer employment opportunities, please contact Ashley McIntyre at (502) 479-0375 or at a_mcintyre@loucol.com. Identifying a job or program does not commit you to hiring one of our graduates; we just ask for the opportunity to put you in contact with our alums who might be interested in strengthening their education with valuable work experience over the summer.

Louisville Collegiate School alumna Tori Murden McClure '81, the first woman to row solo across the Atlantic Ocean, has recently penned "A Pearl in the Storm," detailing her first and second attempts to row across the Atlantic along with the personal reflections and lessons she experiences along the way. The memoir includes tales of Tori's days at Collegiate.
