Tori Murden McClure '81 and Mary Bruce Cobb '43
On Tuesday, Collegiate hosted 'An Evening with Tori Murden' at the Kentucky Center. McClure, recently penned "A Pearl in the Storm," a memoir detailing her physical and emotional journey as the first woman to row solo across the Atlantic Ocean. McClure was interviewed by Bob Edwards host of The Bob Edwards Show on SIRIUS XM radio and Bob Edwards Weekend on public radio stations, after which she signed copies of her book. Earlier in the day she visited Chelle Wabrek's fourth grade class, as well as speaking to the entire Middle and Upper School students. Click "more" to see a photo gallery of her visit.
Louisville Collegiate School's Strategic Plan has identified a fieldhouse as a priority for attracting and retaining students who choose to experience athletics as part of their world class education at Collegiate.~The Building and Ground's committee has been diligently working to design a fieldhouse that will address safety, hygiene, potable water, concession sales and the creature comforts of a proper facility (no more Port-a-Potties) at Champion's Trace. The Committee will deliver this project for less than $200,000, with the necessity of running sewage and power lines to Newburg Road attributing for a bulk of the cost.

Collegiate’s Booster Club and Alumni Association has committed general funds and multi-year proceeds from the annual golf scramble towards this project. Additionally, the Development Committee has recruited community and corporate donations totaling $140,000 to fund this project. As alumnae, we ask you to do your part in making the fieldhouse a reality.

It is easy for you to make your commitment today!Simply click "more" for more details about the building and an electronic pledge form.

There you can print a pledge card and return it to Jennifer Hartlage in the Development Office at Collegiate.

We do not need cash payment at this point, just a pledge of support for the project. Payment of the pledge will be due by June 30, 2010. Please act quickly as we are hopeful to have all funds raised within the next few weeks in order to begin construction in May. Thank you in advance for your support of this project.

With graduation right around the corner, it's time for the next edition of The Bulletin! Submit your class note by replying to the e-mail and tell us what is going on in your life!
