The days of Blue and Gold
competitions are a memory of the distant past for Collegiate's young
alumni; however, the spirit of competition has not left them. If
alumni from the graduating classes of 2005 through 2008 donated to
the Annual Fund, they are entered in a drawing for a $100 VISA gift
card. This year's winner is: Cameron Norris '08.
Thank you for those that contributed to the 2008-09 Collegiate
Annual Fund. Your continued support of Collegiate really makes a
difference!

Louisville Collegiate School is
proud to invite the community to attend Art in the Highlands! This
new juried art show will take place September 19 and 20 on our
beautiful campus in the historic Highlands neighborhood of
Louisville, Kentucky.
This weekend in Louisville has typically been met with the arrival
of the Ursuline Campus Art Fair that for more than 20 years provided
our city with the first festival of the fall season. With the
discontinuation of this event, Collegiate will introduce a new show
that will rival the quality and tradition of the Ursuline event.
Art in the Highlands will feature juried artists representing a wide
array of fine art and craft mediums. Collegiate has been providing
excellence in independent education to generations of Louisville
families since 1915. We are excited to add a new chapter to our
nearly 100 years that includes promoting the arts and welcoming the
Louisville community to our campus for Art in the Highlands.
Introducing this event to the community is a way for us to extend
our arts education beyond our campus community. All proceeds from
the event will support Collegiate students through tuition
assistance and scholarships, technology, fine arts, athletics and
professional development for faculty and staff.
There are a variety of volunteer opportunities that are available.
Below are different ways you can help out.
Booth Sitter: Responsible for providing artists with a short
restroom or snack break.
Information Booth: Responsibilities include distributing art fair
maps, giveaways, and acting as ambassadors by answering questions
regarding the Art Fair and Collegiate.
Artist Loading/Unloading: Responsibilities include assisting
artists with unloading and loading their artist vehicle(s) prior to
and after the Fair and guiding them to their designated booth
location on the field.
Material Distribution: Responsibilities include delivering
posters, fliers, postcards, and doorhangers to specified locations
throughout the Highlands and Collegiate neighborhood, as well as the
Louisville community.
Snack Bag Preparation: Responsibilities include preparing and
stuffing snack bags for artists. Artists will receive two snack
bags; one per day of the Fair.
Snack Bag Distribution: Responsibility is to distribute one snack
bag to each artist, each day.
Parking Lot Attendant: Responsibilities include guiding traffic to
either the Ray Avenue or Grinstead Annex parking lot and also giving
directions to the Art Fair.
Playground Monitor:
Responsibility includes monitoring playground activity to insure
safety of the children playing.
Contact Ashley McIntyre by replying to this e-mail or calling at
502-479-0375 if you would like to volunteer at the Art Fair.
