As chair of Collegiate's 2007-2008 Annual Giving Campaign, I'm very excited about the alumni aspect of our fund-raising drive. I'm a proud 1983 Associate of Collegiate who is always looking to give back in any way possible.

In focusing on this year?s AG campaign, ?Creating Opportunities. Shaping Students," we are looking for 100 percent participation from all of our constituencies, especially from our alumni community.

We encourage you to give at a comfortable level for you and your family.

The money raised through Annual Giving is used to provide need-based financial assistance for qualified students, faculty salaries, facilities upkeep and programs like arts, athletics, professional development and technology. More than $1.3 million in financial aid was awarded in 2007, thereby, increasing economic, social and cultural diversity in the school.

The Collegiate community has such an outstanding history of giving, which makes me confident that everyone, our parents, alumni, and friends, will step forward and help us meet our goal.

Collegiate?s annual giving campaign last year raised $437,000, and the school looks to increase the amount this year by setting a $485,000 goal. The campaign has already secured a $30,000 challenge grant to assist in this effort.

Please join me in supporting Collegiate. You may click on "more" to contribute to the AG Campaign. As alumni, you will be called by the alumni community on Sunday, Sept. 30 as part of our annual Blue and Gold Sunday Phonathon. If you contribute now, you will not be called.

Our 2007-2008 Annual Giving Campaign officially kicks off on Sunday, Sept. 30 during Collegiate's Blue & Gold Phonathon from 1-6 p.m. in the Harry S. Frazier Gym.

Callers are still needed so contact Todd Hinton at (502) 479-0344 or e-mail at todd_hinton@loucol.com today. There are two shifts: 1-3:30 p.m. and 3:30-6 p.m.
The Alumni Office would like to thank all the parents and alumni who responded to the jobs letter that was mailed out in July.

We are, however, still looking for summer jobs and internships for our 2008 Young Alumni Summer Jobs Program.

We would like to thank the following businesses and corporations for responding: National City Bank, Hilliard-Lyons, E.ON.US, Blackacre Nature Preserve and Historic Homestead, River Fields, Inc., Circe, Neotia Inc., Bahe, Cook, Cantley & Jones PLC, and the Bingham Family.

As a graduate of Collegiate, you are familiar with the qualifications a Collegiate alum brings to any office or job. Besides helping our graduates to grow and to prosper in the workforce, your business or corporation will benefit from having a well-educated, life-long learner for the summer.

If you would like to participate in this program, please contact Alumni Director Terry Sebastian at 502-479-0376 or tsebastian@loucol.com.
