Several Collegiate alumni recently found their way back to the school community where they graciously gave of their time and energy.

Washington Post education reporter Ian Shapira ?96 spoke to Marti Calderwood's Advanced Placement Literature class last week. Ian brought a couple stories he wrote concerning the Virginia Tech shootings and school culture in high schools. Ian also spoke to the class about a Washington Post article that uncovered the plaguing outpatient care at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
This week, Collegiate alumna and alumni board member Amy Clemmons Cory ?80 traveled with a group of sophomores to the Wayside Christian Mission in Louisville. Amy and the group of students assisted in the daycare, kitchen and family emergency shelter at Wayside.

Before joining Amy at Wayside in the afternoon, the 10 students took their PSATs on Collegiate's campus. All Upper School students took part in community service this Wednesday during Collegiate's annual "Day of Caring." Amy is pictured here with sophomores Joe Lang, Josh Wilson and Randy Petcov.

Next week, several alums will gather on campus to make alumni annual giving calls on Wednesday, October 24 from 6:30-8 p.m. Another call session, Thursday, November 1, has been scheduled. If you are interested in calling the alumni community one of these nights, please contact Terry Sebastian at (502) 479-0376. Pictured to the left is Austin Thompson Anderton ?97 and Brian Cook ?94 who recently called alums during our Blue and Gold Sunday Phonathon.

To date, the Collegiate Alumni have given $17,480 of their $41,688.69 goal. Please join the campaign and support Collegiate. You may click on "more" to contribute to the Annual Giving Campaign today.

Collegiate is looking for 100 percent participation from our alumni community. We encourage you to give at a comfortable level for you and your family.

The money raised through Annual Giving is used to provide need-based financial assistance for qualified students, faculty salaries, facilities upkeep and programs like arts, athletics, professional development and technology. More than $1.3 million in financial aid was awarded in 2007, thereby, increasing economic, social and cultural diversity in the school.
We?d like to know what?s new in your life. Please share your photos and news?from career notes, to a wedding or birth announcement (that occurred within the past year) or retirement updates.
