Meredith Leathers Carbrey '88

Carbrey '88In her profession and in service to others, Meredith Leathers Carbrey strives for accomplishment. A 1992 cum laude graduate from Wake Forest University, Meredith went on to earn a masters of business administration from the University of Louisville in 1994, and has continued her professional education while working in private banking. Currently assistant vice president of the private client group with Star Wealth Management in Indianapolis, she manages high net worth private banking portfolios in order to help clients define and achieve their financial goals.

While Meredith has worked her way up in the financial world through hard work and determination, she has spent as much time, if not more, as a successful volunteer. She was voted Woman of the Year by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, in part, for raising $12,000 in six weeks. She has also been involved with The Junior League for many years as an active member and a past co-chair of the Association of Junior Leagues International Centennial Celebration. She has served as treasurer for both the Louisville Collegiate School Alumni Board and The Younger Women’s Club of Louisville. Other organizations that have benefited from her time and energy are: The Academy of Music at St. Francis in the Fields, Inc., the Kentucky Arts and Craft Foundation, and the Red Cross.

Meredith quotes President Dwight D. Eisenhower by saying,

"Accomplishment will prove to be a journey, not a destination;' and says, '…I can assure you that I am still on the journey. I have faced many challenges and had many successes, all of which have taught me another lesson: accomplishment may have more to do with how well prepared you are for the journey and how determined you are to learn it and enjoy it than it does with whether you arrive…''
