Congressman Yarmuth to speak to Collegiate SADD

Congressman part of Students Against Destructive Decisions program

LOUISVILLE, KY. – Louisville Collegiate School is proud to welcome Kentucky 3rd District US Congressman John Yarmuth to its Highlands campus at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 30 as part of the school’s Students Against Destructive Decisions program.

Congressman Yarmuth will speak to the 190-plus students in Collegiate’s high school and will introduce the featured speakers – Brandon Silveria and his father Tony.

Brandon was involved in a near-fatal car crash after drinking a couple of beers at a high school party on the night of his prom in Los Gatos, California. After enduring a coma for nearly three months and another three years of painful rehabilitation, Brandon and his father Tony tour America's high schools full-time on behalf of an organization called The Century Council.

Collegiate Board of Trustees President Phoebe Wood will participate in the program. Wood, CFO at Brown-Forman, will introduce Congressman Yarmuth.

Additionally, Brandon and his father will be the featured speakers at a Collegiate parent program at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 29 in its high school, located at the corner of Grinstead Drive and Ray Avenue.

Established in 1915, Louisville Collegiate School is a co-ed college-preparatory independent school for students from kindergarten through 12th grade.
