Sarah Parker to chair Annual Giving Campaign at Collegiate
Parker brings talent, personal experience
to 2007-2008 fundraising campaign
LOUISVILLE,
KY. – Louisville Collegiate School is enlisting the
help of Sarah Parker, local businesswoman and Collegiate parent,
to chair its 2007-2008 Annual Giving Campaign, which kicks
off September 30.
The school’s campaign, “Creating
Opportunities. Shaping Students” is a community-wide
effort to raise funds for the school. The money is used to
provide need-based financial assistance for qualified students,
faculty support, facilities upkeep and programs like arts,
athletics, professional development and technology. More than
$1 million in financial aid was awarded in 2006, thereby,
increasing economic, social and cultural diversity in the
school.
“Collegiate’s campaign last year
was such a tremendous success that I’m proud to head
this year’s efforts and reach new heights with our donor-giving,”
Parker said. “The Collegiate community has such an outstanding
history of giving, which makes me confident that our parents,
alumni and friends will step forward and help us meet our
goal.”
Collegiate’s annual giving campaign
last year raised $437,000, and the school looks to increase
the amount this year by setting a $500,000 goal. The campaign
has already secured a $30,000 Challenge Grant to assist in
this effort.
Parker and her husband Duane have a son Jack
in the 5th grade and a daughter Sam in the 1st grade at Collegiate.
As chair, Parker brings a new level of excitement and experience
to the school’s annual fund-raising campaign. She served
on several boards including the External Board of Advisors
to the School of Arts and Sciences at the University of Vermont,
the Kentucky Humane Society and Turning Point. She currently
serves on the boards of the Honey Locust Foundation and L'Alliance
Francaise de Louisville. She co-chaired the Chance School
auction where her children attended pre-school and chaired
Collegiate’s inaugural Blue and Gold Sunday Phon-a-thon
last year.
She has a master’s degree in French
and her MBA in international management. She has been the
Director of L'Alliance Francaise de Louisville for 6 years.
