Collegiate students to work in community this Wednesday
Annual ‘Day of Caring’ places
student outside the classroom
LOUISVILLE, KY. LOUISVILLE, KY. – Louisville
Collegiate School high school students will spend Wednesday,
Oct. 17 working in the Louisville community as part of Collegiate’s
annual “Day of Caring.” This event is one of several
service opportunities that allow students to step outside
of the classroom.
Collegiate’s 190-plus high school students
will work at the following organizations during the Day of
Caring on Wednesday: Atkinson Elementary School, Bloom/ Hawthorne
Elementary School, Breckinridge Franklin Elementary School,
Catholic Charities Refugee Relief, Churchill Park School,
Four Courts Senior Center, Nathareth Home, New Albany Animal
Shelter, Presbyterian Community Center, Brooklawn Children’s
Home, Crane House Asian Cultural Center, Democratic Headquarters,
Green Hill Therapy, a Louisville fire department, Norton Hospital,
Portland Museum, Visually Impaired Preschool Services, and
Wayside Christian Mission.
Students will also clean up Cherokee Park,
knit scarves for the Center for Women and Families, make minor
repairs with Project Warm, scrub fossil beds at the Falls
of the Ohio State Park, and arrange a new exhibit at the Locust
Grove Historic Home.

Day of Caring Schedule 
Established in 1915, Louisville Collegiate
School is a co-ed college-preparatory independent school for
students from kindergarten through 12th grade.
