The Arts Rock at Louisville Collegiate School
Students celebrate the arts in preparation for Art
in the Highlands
LOUISVILLE, KY. – During the
week leading up to Louisville Collegiate School’s
Art in the Highlands, students from every grade
level will celebrate and explore the arts in a variety
of special events.
From Monday, September 14 through Wednesday,
September 16, Lower School Fine Arts classes will work
on mural painting, and create their own designs on “art
rocks.” In addition to their regular fine arts
curriculum, students will get to spend time exploring
printmaking, jazz dance, flamenco dance, stage combat,
collaborative poetry writing, world music and movement
with Collegiate teaching artists and guest artists.

Art in the Highlands, a community-wide
event featuring 80 juried artists from across the country
will take place on September 19 and 20 on Collegiate’s
campus at 2427 Glenmary Avenue from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Art in the Highlands will continue the fine tradition
of fall festivals in the Louisville area with food vendors
and entertainment. Off-site parking at Jim Porter’s
located at 2345 Lexington Road will be available with
free shuttle service to the event.

Louisville Collegiate School is a JK-12, co-ed independent
day school located in the historic Highlands neighborhood
of Louisville, Kentucky. Its Upper School features 204
students in grades 9-12 and an average class size of
13 students.
