“We are proud to recognize the achievement of these five individuals, as they are an example of the talented and gifted students we educate daily,”said Head of School, Scott Prince. “We look forward to supporting their candidacy to finalists in the competition.”

Averaging approximately 1.4 million entrants a year, the National Merit Scholarship Competition recognizes students with the highest PSAT/NMSQT® Selection Index Scores. Students are tested in areas covering critical reading, mathematics, and writing skills. Collegiate’s five semifinalists scored in the 99th percentile of the competition.

Over the last 8 years, nearly 25% of Collegiate’s graduates have been recognized in the National Merit Scholarship Competition.

Semifinalists are chosen on a state-by-state basis to ensure that all
areas of the United States are represented in this highly selective talent pool. All five will now work to advance to the Finalist round by meeting high academic standards and fulfilling a series of requirements set forth by the competition.
