Louisville Collegiate School Ranks #1 in Mathematics
Top Scores Earn Certificate of Merit

LOUISVILLE, KY. – Louisville Collegiate School is proud to announce that it has been named the number one school for high school mathematics in Louisville, Kentucky, by The Mathematical Association of America (MAA). This is the most prestigious national recognition awarded to a Kentucky high school for its math performance on the American Mathematics Competition, 2009.

“The success of our math team in academic competitions such as the American Mathematics Competition highlights the level of academic excellence that has been the cornerstone of the Collegiate experience for nearly 100 years,” Head of School Scott Prince commented.

Seven 11th and 12th graders from Collegiate participated in the American Mathematics Competition earlier this year, earning a team score of 325.5 and a Certificate of Merit. This team score was compiled from the top three student scores. This top score placed Collegiate over Dupont Manual by 16.5 points. MAA ranks Collegiate as the #1 high school for mathematics in the city of Louisville and #2 in the state of Kentucky, 12 points behind Dunbar High School in Lexington.

Louisville Collegiate School is a JK-12, co-ed independent day school located in the historic Highlands neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky. Its Upper School features 204 students in grades 9-12 and an average class size of 13 students.
