Louisville Collegiate School Ranks #1 in Mathematics
Top Scores Earn Certificate of Merit
LOUISVILLE, KY. – Louisville
Collegiate School is proud to announce that it has been
named the number one school for high school mathematics
in Louisville, Kentucky, by The Mathematical Association
of America (MAA). This is the most prestigious national
recognition awarded to a Kentucky high school for its
math performance on the American Mathematics Competition,
2009.
“The success of our math team
in academic competitions such as the American Mathematics
Competition highlights the level of academic excellence
that has been the cornerstone of the Collegiate experience
for nearly 100 years,” Head of School Scott
Prince commented.
Seven 11th and 12th graders from Collegiate
participated in the American Mathematics Competition
earlier this year, earning a team score of 325.5 and
a Certificate of Merit. This team score was compiled
from the top three student scores. This top score placed
Collegiate over Dupont Manual by 16.5 points. MAA ranks
Collegiate as the #1 high school for mathematics in
the city of Louisville and #2 in the state of Kentucky,
12 points behind Dunbar High School in Lexington.

Louisville Collegiate School is a JK-12, co-ed independent
day school located in the historic Highlands neighborhood
of Louisville, Kentucky. Its Upper School features 204
students in grades 9-12 and an average class size of
13 students.
