Louisville Collegiate School is an accredited pre-school program by both the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) and the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). As experts in early childhood education, we believe this educational experience is important in developing life-long learners.
Collegiate’s Junior Kindergarten welcomes young minds to a place of social and academic exploration. Located on our campus, the Junior Kindergarten provides a nurturing structure, developmentally appropriate school work and positive guidance from dedicated and experienced teachers. Days in Junior Kindergarten begin with a morning meeting, when teachers review with students the day’s plans and events. Our children have daily opportunities to develop and strengthen their math, pre-literacy skills, science, art and fine motor skills. Incorporated into our daily program are ongoing experiences that help our students learn how to have fun while learning to be collaborators and innovators. Specialists in Spanish, library, music, science and physical education broaden our students’ horizons.
Through a daily routine of wonder, experiment, and group exploration, students gain independence, confidence and self-esteem. Our finely tuned program prepares our 4 and 5 year olds for a smooth transition into our Kindergarten program and sets them on the lifelong journey of learning.
