Descriptions
New
Family Welcoming:
All new families to Collegiate are assigned a mentoring family.
The mentoring family acts as a host and source of information
for the new family.
Used
Uniform Sale:
Used uniforms are sold prior to each semester and throughout
the year. Volunteers are needed to help at the sale and to
sort and organize the clothes throughout the year.
Upper
School Textbook Sale:
Prior to the start of school the Upper School board members
coordinate a sale of used textbooks. Volunteers are needed
the day of the sale to help run the event.
Fall
Festival:
This annual event is an all school event. Carnival games,
inflatables and a bake sale are the main attractions. Volunteers
are needed in many capacities. »more
Community
Service:
This is a new committee that looks at ways the Collegiate
community can serve the greater Louisville community. New
members are needed to help coordinate the current projects
that are ongoing and to develop new ones.
Family
Network:
Family Network is a support and educational committee that
looks at ways to keep our kids alcohol and substance free.
The main emphasis in this committee is the Upper and Middle
Schools.
After
Prom Party:
This committee works with the Upper School Students and Dean
to organize an after prom party.
Dads'
Club:
A monthly informational meeting for Dads.. »more
Homeroom/Grade
Parent:
The primary duties of the home room/grade parent are informational.
They are the primary source of information dissemination from
the parents association to the parents. Therefore they must
have computer and e-mail capability. In the Lower Grades they
coordinate parties and chaperones as needed for the teacher.
They are also involved in collecting money for the end of
the year and Holiday gifts.
Lunchroom
Helpers:
Coordinates the lunch room parents for grades k-2.
Parent
Gathering Host:
This involves coordinating a gathering in your home for the
parents in your child’s grade. Invitations are sent
out through the development office and parents are usually
asked to contribute an appetizer and beverage.
Lower
School Field Day:
Volunteers are needed both to plan the event and help on the
day of. This is a lower school event that is held outside
and involves games and a picnic.
Reading
Related Activities:
Volunteers are needed to help with the book fair both in planning
and staffing. Volunteer opportunities also are available in
the Library and in helping with the Young authors Week.
Faculty
Staff Appreciation:
This committee encompasses a wide variety of events from new
staff welcoming, to monthly staff appreciation events, to
and end of the year party. Many volunteers and ideas are needed
for this very important committee.
Faculty
Staff Assistance:
Volunteers are needed in many office s of the school. The
admissions office is always eager to have tour guides and
people to help with admission events. The Development Office
has many events that need volunteers such as Blue and Gold
Sunday (annual giving drive) and Collegiate Gala (annual fundraiser).
Athletic
Booster Club:
The booster club assists the Athletic Department with fund
raising and recruiting of volunteers for athletic events.

This committee works with the fine arts department to raise
funds and provide volunteers for fine arts events. »more
Collegiate
Gala:
Fabulous trips to exotic locales, paintings and sports
memorabilia are just some of the things that were up for grabs
at this annual fund-raiser, which featured both live and silent
auctions. The 2010 event will be held on Saturday, February
20, 2010. »more
Annual
Fund
This annual fund provides support to the operating
budget for programs, financial aid, and faculty professional
development. The Annual Fund campaign starts in September
and run through June 30. »more
Homecoming
This weekend us scheduled for last September and
is a combination of events for students, parents, and alumni
including a pasta dinner, student athletic games, pep rally,
school dance, and the Annual Giving Blue & Gold Sunday
Phonathon. »more
