Merit Scholarships

There are currently four members of the freshman class who are Merit Scholars and four rising 9th graders have been awarded Merit Scholarships for 2008-2009.

These students are selected based on superior academic achievement, standardized testing scores, and the potential for significant contribution while attending Collegiate and thereafter.

Notes & QuotesThe Parents Association is proud to fund one of these scholarships. We received notes from the students and would like to share a few of their comments:

“…I have been able to learn at a higher level than I would’ve been able to at any other school I was considering. Collegiate teaches at such a swift pace and rigorous level that I thought I would never be able to meet. But, at Collegiate I am able to learn at such a high level because of its small size.”

“Collegiate is like a second home to me, and its walls are magical. Truly great things happen here, and I will remember this place for a lifetime.”

“…the level of education I have received gives me the tools to make my life great. When I am older I aim to set up a scholarship fund like you because of how much I see it can positively affect someone’s life.”

“Collegiate has done so many wonderful things to enhance my learning such as provide better foundation for different learning styles. I am very involved in the school with drama and the athletic department…. Thank you for providing me the opportunity to attend Collegiate.”

Faculty Appreciation Party

balloonsOn Friday, May 23, the Parents Association is hosting a Faculty and Staff Appreciation Party at the Slugger Museum.

This is one of many things that the Parents Association does throughout the year to make sure our Faculty & Staff knows how much the parents appreciate all that they do for our children.

We are asking Middle and Upper School parents to donate an item that can be used as a door prize. We try to ensure that each staff member who attends receives a gift.gift

If you would like to donate something, please take it to the collection box in the Middle or Upper School office. (The Lower School parents donated money in November to purchase holiday and year-end gifts for their homeroom and specialty teachers.)
