 | Collegiate Celebrates its 51st Kindergarten Derby

On Thursday, May 3 families, alumni and friends of Collegiate gathered on the campus field to witness the 51st running of the school’s Kindergarten Derby. This long standing tradition features the school’s 5 and 6 year old “jockeys” with their self-decorated hobbyhorses, competing in a footrace. Grace Thornton rode "Bodemeister" to capture 1st place (Win), Spencer Hyslop took 2nd place (Place) riding "Dullahan" and Henry Thornton rode "Take Charge Indy" for the 3rd place (Show) spot.

Mock Trial Team Finishes Third!

Congratulations to the 2012 Collegiate Mock Trial team! The team finished third out of a field of 32 high school teams statewide last Saturday, March 17, after four rounds of trials. This finish is one of the highest in the past four years. Hannah Watene was awarded the best attorney for our team; Leanne Reisz was the best witness according to the judges.

Pi Day was a blast! Congratulations to Kyle Kersey for setting a new school record for number of pi digits recited. Kyle was our school winner, reciting 314 digits of pi!

Tornado Relief: Help out Henryville Schools!

On March 2, tornadoes ripped through parts of Indiana and KY. Just 22 miles north of Louisville, Henryville took a devastating blow, with several of their schools destroyed. Students and teachers have lost not only their buildings, but also the supplies necessary to make learning possible.
Louisville Collegiate School will join Panera Bread and 102.3 The MAX, in helping to replenish their school supplies.

Collegiate Celebrates Record Enrollment

Collegiate opened the 2011-2012 school year with 692 students, an increase of more than 30 students from the opening day enrollment last year, and the largest opening day enrollment in the school’s history.
