Louisville Collegaite: Message from the Head of School

November 4, 2009

Dear Collegiate Community,

It is with great excitement that I announce today that the family of Wallace H. Dunbar has challenged our community to secure $25,000 in new pledges to the Annual Fund Campaign between now and December 31, 2009. In exchange, the family will contribute $25,000 upon our success in the “Double Your Dollar Challenge.”

After tuition, the Annual Fund is the most important source of revenue for the school’s operating budget. The gift you make to the campaign impacts the day-to-day operations of Collegiate and supports items such as the student literary magazine Wordworks, basketball uniforms for our Middle School teams, and financial assistance for qualifying students.

As a school community, Collegiate typically performs well in fundraising as compared to our benchmark schools. Last year, Collegiate ranked in the top 1/3  of its peer institutions in terms of donor participation rates. However, our average gift ranked in the bottom 1/3 compared to our peer institutions. You can help us improve that statistic by contributing to this challenge and increasing your gift by10-20% over last year.

If you have not yet pledged your support to the Annual Fund, then we ask that you please do so before December 31. This is an incredible opportunity that allows you to “double” the impact of your gift.

If you have already given to the Annual Fund, then I would like to thank you for your generosity and commitment to Collegiate’s mission. You are still able to help us take advantage of this challenge by increasing your gift and pledging additional support by December 31.

It is easy  to participate in the “Double Your Dollar Challenge.” Donate online by clicking here, or make your pledge by contacting Todd Hinton directly (479.0344 or todd_hinton@loucol.com).  Gifts made today benefit from a full tax deduction for 2009.

Please show your support by giving back and exemplifying what it means to “Be Collegiate” before December 31!

Thank you for your generosity,

Junius Scott Prince
