Dear Friend,
We write today to thank you for
your generosity and commitment to A Leap Without
Bounds, Louisville Collegiate School’s boldest
fundraising effort in our nearly 100 year history.
As of September 15, the campaign is officially
closed.
 In
our respective roles as Board Chair and Chair
of the Board’s Capital Campaign Committee,
we took on the responsibility of directing the
final phase of this capital campaign. We made
this decision with eagerness and excitement. The
commitment we witnessed from our enthusiastic
donors and leaders was outstanding.
Together we raised an outstanding
grand total of $2.8 million since July 2006. Throughout
the 2007-08 school year, we were offered a $1
million challenge – for every $3 we raised,
we would receive $1, not to exceed $1 million.
The loyalty of our trustees, parents, past parents,
alumni/ae and friends brought in $1,447,003, which
allowed us to receive $482,334 of the $1 million
challenge. Throughout the duration of the A Leap
Without Bounds campaign we have raised a total
of $13.5 million.
We have fulfilled the vision
set forth in the spring of 2001 that sought to
meet the needs of Collegiate in the 21st Century.
The massive amount of time, effort, and organization
that has characterized this capital campaign has
and will continue to benefit the Collegiate community.
Physically, this campaign has
brought a state-of-the-art Upper School building,
the construction of the Mary Rodes Lannert Athletic
Center, the renovation of the Harry S. Frazier
Gymnasium, and the purchase and development of
our athletic fields at Champions Trace. The Collegiate
campus was also augmented with new parking features,
a distinctive colonnade, a Grinstead Drive drop-off
circle, and landscaping that brightened the look
of the school.
In addition, the campus improvements
have created a sense of school pride and unity,
a feeling that permeates into the surrounding
community. With our fantastic facilities, placed
in the heart of the Highlands neighborhood, the
city of Louisville is both prideful and admiring
of what we have accomplished.
Thank you, again, for all you
have done to help us fulfill the vision that is
A Leap Without Bounds - Louisville Collegiate
School’s most successful capital campaign.
